Jet2 holidays cancelled as Croatia added to UK quarantine list – latest travel advice

Jet2 package holidays to Croatia have been axed until the end of the month. The move by the popular travel company comes as Croatia was cut from the UK’s list of quarantine-exempt countries last night by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). From 4am tomorrow, anyone returning from the Balkan country will have to self-isolate for 14 days, according to the latest travel advice.

This followed a hike in coronavirus cases in Croatia.

Jet2 holidays will now recommence on August 31.

Anyone whose summer getaways have been impacted by the changes will be issued a full refund.

“For customers travelling with us on a package holiday, we are cancelling all holidays to Croatia up to and including August 30,” a Jet2 spokesman told

“We have been repeatedly recognised for how we have been looking after customers throughout the pandemic, and all affected bookings will be cancelled with a full refund.

“For bookings due to travel to Croatia from August 31 onwards, we will provide an update once we receive further information from the Government.

“We would like to thank our customers for their understanding and patience.”

However, Jet2 flights have not been affected by the latest government update.

These will continue as normal between the UK and Croatia.

If passengers do not wish to travel to Croatia they can rebook with Jet2 for free.

The spokesman said: “We note the latest government advice regarding travel to Croatia from the UK, and we are planning to operate our scheduled programme of flights to Dubrovnik, Split and Pula.

“This means that customers in Croatia can continue to enjoy their holidays and return on their scheduled flight back to the UK.

“Flight-only customers can still travel to Croatia, however those who no longer wish to travel up to and including August 30 can rebook with no admin fee.”

The current FCO travel advice for Croatia is as follows: “The FCO advise against all but essential travel to Croatia.

“This is based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks.

“The FCO is not advising those already travelling in Croatia to leave at this time.

“You should follow the advice of the local authorities on how best to protect yourself and others, including any measures that they bring in to control the virus.

“Contact your travel operator if you have any questions about your return journey.

“If you are returning to the UK from Croatia on or after 22 August, you may need to self-isolate on your return.

“Check the latest guidance for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.”

In further Jet2 news, the budget airline has now relaunched flights to Portugal after the nation was added to the UK’s ‘safe’ list last night.

The carrier will see its first flights depart to Faro, in the Algarve, from August 24.

Airports serving the holiday hotspot include Belfast International, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, London Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle.

The route will join the current Madeira flight offering already in place for which flights will continue to run from Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and London Stansted.
