Holidays: Center Parcs slashes all UK holiday prices for 2020 in massive discount

Center Parcs has slashed the cost of holidays this year. The cheap UK breaks are thanks to the VAT cuts announced by the government earlier this month. These saw VAT reduced from 20 percent to five percent in a bid to help the tourism industry.

The popular holiday company is now passing on the savings to its customers.

Center Parcs has five holiday villages in the UK.

They have all now reopened after months of being closed during lockdown.

The villages include Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, Elveden Forest in Suffolk, Longleat Forest in Wiltshire, Whinfell Forest in Cumbria and Woburn Forest in Bedfordshire.

Thanks to the price cuts short two-night breaks in 2020 now start from £175pp for a two-person lodge.

A statement from Center Parcs said: “We welcome the reduction in VAT recently announced for the leisure, tourism and hospitality sector, at a time when the sector is managing significantly reduced capacity and demand.

“Center Parcs will be reducing prices in recognition of the change in VAT, for both new short break bookings (new bookings from 15 July 2020 – 12 January 2021 for arrivals between those same dates) and applicable restaurant prices.

“Center Parcs have wanted to support the spirit of the government’s intentions and trigger fresh demand for UK leisure, hospitality and tourism and we therefore felt it was important to pass this reduction on to our guests.”

The holiday company has introduced a number of new measures to keep guests and staff safe.

These include:

Reduced numbers of guests on each break

– Changes to some activities to maintain social distancing

– An enhanced cleaning regime for accommodation and central areas

– Changes to arrival and departure times to allow more time for enhanced cleaning

– Cashless payment only across the villages

– Online-only bookings and payment for activities

– New takeaway service offering contactless delivery to lodges

  • Hand luggage: Three key items to pack this summer or risk fines

Center Parcs has also introduced a ‘book with confidence’ guarantee which allows guests to cancel their break up to six days prior to arrival and still receive a full refund.

In further news for the company, they have announced its Subtropical Swimming Paradise will open to guests from Monday July 27 2020.

What’s more, for guests who are staying on a Center Parcs break, treatments will be available in the Aqua Sana Spa from the same date.

As with the rest of the park, anti-coronavirus measures are in place.

The changes include:

– Access to the Subtropical Swimming Paradise will need to be booked online in advance

– In order to keep everyone safe, we will be limiting the number of guests allowed in the pool at any one time and on the frequency of visits during a break

– Temperature checks will be conducted before entering the Subtropical Swimming Paradise

– There will be a nominal 10p charge per person, which will be donated to our charity partner Together for Short Lives.
