Norse Atlantic Airways anticipates launching in summer 2022

Low-cost carrier Norse Atlantic Airways on Tuesday revealed its livery design and said it plans to start flying customers between Europe and the U.S. next summer.

Norse intends to fill the void left by Norwegian Air and Wow, two discount transatlantic carriers no longer operating.

In a statement, CEO Bjorn Tore Larsen said, “We strongly believe that there is a need for a new and innovative airline serving the low-cost intercontinental market with modern, more environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient aircraft as the world gradually reopens. Our plans are on track and operations will commence when travel restrictions are lifted and demand for transatlantic travel is back.”

Larsen said he anticipates that all of Norse’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners will operate transatlantic flights next summer, and that tickets would go on sale three months before the first flight. The airline believes it will have 1,600 employees by next summer.
